Terms and Conditions for all services
1. Acceptance of terms and conditions of use.
Please read the following information carefully and contact us if you have any further questions. Payment for any of the services at Schema Therapy Online will be processed through our parent company Recovery from Addiction Ltd. This will not show up on your receipt.
Once payment of a counselling package has been made and the first session has been completed, no refunds will be issued. Full refunds will be given within 14 days if no part of a package has been utilised. Healing from past trauma, schemas and rewiring old patterns takes time and commitment. It is human nature for motivation to wane. It is important to also understand that the brain naturally resists change and pushing through this resistance is what will help you achieve the goals you have for yourself. If for some reason you cannot complete sessions within a package, you will have the opportunity to suspend your sessions for a maximum of 3 months. After this time, the package cannot be used.
In the event that a session needs to be rescheduled, 24 hours notice is required to avoid forfeiting payment for the scheduled session.
Refunds for the schema assessment will be issued if no part of the assessment has been utilised and the refund request is made within 14 days of purchase.
The online programme is paid on a monthly basis and subscription can be cancelled at any time. However, there will be no refund of the months already used and paid for.
3. The online programme.
This is a coaching programme and is not counselling / therapy. It is designed to provide you with the most up to date scientific information to guide you through a process to help you work through the issues that you are struggling with. I do not guarantee outcomes. I cannot conduct one to one therapy within the community of the online programme, neither can I provide individual therapy via email. The purpose of the online programme is to provide support via facebook group interactions and live weekly call to answer specific questions about the programme.
4. Nature of Counselling.
Counselling and Psychotherapy is about helping someone to gain insight into their own problems and find ways to live a happier more fulfilling life. It is not about giving advice or telling someone what they should do. You will never be judged or directed to a certain course of action. You will be helped you to gain an understanding into what is driving your problems and guided through a process of change. This change may involve identifying and changing negative thoughts or learning to identify and deal with difficult emotions. They may also teach you skills that you may need to move forward with your life.
Counselling can sometimes generate painful emotions and uncomfortable feelings and is not often easy. However, this is necessary for lasting change.
5. Technical Problems
Our services are dependent on receiving a continuous Internet connection. We have optimised our services to ensure we can provide high quality video at low bandwidth, however, on rare occasions there may be interruptions to sessions / course calls due to connectivity issues. If this should happen, we will re-schedule at a time convenient to you at no extra charge.
6. Limits to confidentiality
There are some situations when practitioners are obliged by law and ethics to disclose information to relevant parties. These situations are as follows:
i) If a practitioner has reason to believe that you are likely to cause harm to yourself or another person.
ii) If a practitioner has cause to believe that a child has been or is likely to be abused, placed in danger or neglected.
iii) If a court has issued a subpoena for your records.
iv) If you disclose that you have been sexually abused by a regulated mental health professional.
If you have any questions or concerns that are not covered here, please contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
